SPIRE

On 7th March 2017, a national campaign will launch to introduce SPIRE to the public and explain what it means for Patients. NHS Scotland is improving the way it uses information from GP patient records. Please see the SPIRE page for more information and links to the SPIRE website. 

Shingles Vaccination

 The shingles vaccination programme for 2016/17 has recently been announced. The programme is principally aimed at 

  • People aged 70 years (routine)
  • People aged 76 years (catch-up)
  • People aged 77 & 78 years (continuing catch up from 2015/16

If you were previously eligible and did not take up the offer of vaccination, you can still be vaccinated. This includes people aged 71 - 73 (inclusive) and those aged 79. People aged 74 & 75 years will be vaccinated in future programmes.

Evenings and Weekends  

Out of hours medical care is organised by NHS Borders. If you require urgent medical advice or attention out of hours (between 6.00 pm and 8.00 am Monday to Friday and 6.00 pm Friday to 8.00 am Monday) please telephone  NHS 24 on 111.

Test Results

We would ask that you check the results of any blood tests by ringing the surgery between 2.00 and 4.00 pm. Most blood and urine results take one week to come back and be interpreted by the doctor. Some blood tests results may take up to four weeks if they involve more complicated analysis. If you need to book a test, please phone (01361) 883373.

Order Your Repeat Prescription Online

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

Repeat prescriptions may be ordered via a number of ways:

You may use the tear-off section of prescription forms to reorder your repeat prescription. This will be given to you by the chemist along with your repeat medication. When a further supply is required simply tick the drugs required on the form and hand it in to the surgery, or to your community pharmacist. If you prefer you can post the slip to us.

You can use Online Repeat Prescription Ordering via the Patient Access website or App. If you would like to sign up for this service please pop into Reception where one of our Admin Team will be happy to set this up. We also have a designated repeat prescription line, which you can phone on (01361) 885044 and leave a message. Please refrain from using the main practice number to order repeat medication. Phone lines are extremely busy and we need to ensure patients who are unwell can get through. If you require to speak to a member of staff about your prescription, please phone after 10am.

We generally provide 28 days’ medication in accordance with NHS Borders policy, however we are happy to consider requests for 56 days' for suitable patients if this is more convenient.

Please allow up to 7 days for your prescription to be ready at the pharmacy. If you have any problems please telephone the surgery.
