MB,ChB,DCCH (Qualified Edinburgh 1985, MRCGP Examination passed 1989) Dr. McCann lives in Duns with his wife, a nursing sister, and family. He has been a full-time GP here for 29 years, and has a particular interest in family and preventative medicine, heart disease, children’s and men’s health. He has overall responsibility for prescribing issues within the practice and ensures that this is done safely and effectively according to current guidelines. In his spare time he is a keen tennis player and plays flute and saxophone in several orchestras and groups in the Borders.

MB, ChB, MFSEM(UK) DipCAH (Qualified Glasgow 1988), has over 25 years' experience working as a GP in the Borders. She became a formal partner in May 2016 after many years working as a regular locum in the practice. She has also previously spent 6 months working as a GP in New Zealand, experiencing how medicine works on the other side of the world. She has a particular interest and qualification in Sports and Exercise Medicine. She has also recently obtained a Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnotherapy and is hoping to set up a small private practice locally.

MB ChB, MRCGP, ECFMG (Qualified Manchester 1983). Returned to General Practice after 20 year gap, having lived in the States and Europe. Previous single handed GP prior to stopping in 2000 in urban practice. I am very enthusiastic about adapting to rural practice and developing my skills to fit the needs of the population here. My particular interests include lifestyle medicine, preventative healthcare, mental health and diversity. Outside of the practice, I am passionate about her outdoor pursuits, which include hiking, nutritional cooking, design and community based projects.
